PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński was interviewed as a witness in connection with the death of Barbara Skrzypek. The erstwhile Prime Minister assessed the actions taken as "decent", while accusing prosecutors of breaking the law.
Investigators carry out actions in the case of involuntary manslaughter of long-term co-workers of the PiS president. The evidence has already been given by members of the deceased's closest family. On Thursday Jarosław Kaczyński appeared at the office of the Warsaw-Prague territory Attorney's Office. On the same day, a proceeding was besides scheduled for prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek, who conducted an earlier proceeding of Barbara Skrzypek.
“I am the eventual goal” – Kaczyński’s statement
The first message was made by the president of PiS. Before entering the D.A., he commented on the case, claiming that there was a “serious crime”.
– It's a practice of constantly applying that there's a proxy. The fact that he was not there was due to bad will, any bad intentions going beyond the Code of Criminal Procedure. [Interviewors – ed.] knew that the wellness condition of late Barbara Skrzypek is bad, so they had to take into account the consequences, and here are already very dense paragraphs, specifically articles of the Code said Kaczyński.
– We have been dealing with a scandalous, criminal situation here and I hope that the time will come for this to be assessed and appropriate conclusions will be drawn (...) Mrs. Wrzosek – I hope – will end up where she should end up, that is, in state prisons and for that very, very long years – he added.
The politician suggested that the "final goal" of the prosecution's actions was itself.
After the hearing, Jarosław Kaczyński appeared at the press briefing.
– It was a decent audition. Mr. D.A. and Mrs. D.A. have been acting the right way, rather properly. – he said.
– I have answered all the questions relating to the contact with Mrs Barbara Skrzypek, especially in this fresh period, the last days before her death, as well as the immediate postmortem period. – he added.
Barbara Skrzypek died on March 15. Kaczyński suggested that prosecutors may be liable for her death, who interrogated her on 12 March in an investigation into Silver and alleged 2 towers. The proceeding was conducted by prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek in company with, among others, Jack Dubois.
