The tight end of the presidential campaign
The presidential elections scheduled for May 18 are generating more and more emotions. Karol Nawrocki, a candidate supported by the PiS, makes his losses to the poll leader – Rafał Trzaskowski. According to an IBRiS survey for “Politics”, the current president of Warsaw enjoys 30.4% of support, while Nawrocki can number on 24.9%. The 3rd place is taken by Sławomir Mentzen (Confederation) with a score of 12.8 percent.
Meeting in Chojnice and promises to fight expensive
While visiting Chojnice on 24 April, Nawrocki announced an intense run tip and a fight against rising prices. The gathering aimed at mobilising local electorate and presenting programme priorities.
From banner to police intervention
Even before Nawrocki appeared on the city marketplace in Chojnice, there was controversy. The election banner with its image was reworked – the youth painted him a mustache akin to the ones Adolf Hitler wore. The reaction of PiS sympathizers was immediate – MP Marcin Horala tried to remove the banner, which faced opposition of the owner of the property.
Shrapnel and vulgar music from speakers
The situation escalated erstwhile the owner of a close dining area incorporated a song hitting the PiS. A councillor from this organization tried to intervene, but was asked to leave the premises and then a conflict ensued. Officers present at the scene stepped in to calm the situation. Officers pointed out the disorder of public order. The owner of the premises did not hide frustration, suggesting that he could pay a ticket and adding that he "does not love the PiS".
