"Russia is pleased" - so Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on Tuesday on the support he gave to Karol Nawrock in the election run George Simion, leader of the extremist right-wing AUR party, winner of the first circular of presidential elections in Romania.
"Russia is happy. Nawrocki and his pro-Russian Romanian counterpart George Simion on 1 phase 5 days before the presidential elections in Poland and Romania. All clear" - wrote the head of government on platform X.

On Tuesday at a rally in Zabrze, the candidate for president of Romania George Simion encouraged the vote to be a presidential candidate, supported by PiS, Karol Nawrocki.
"The future president of Romania, the future president of Poland," said Nawrocki welcoming Simion. "Together, erstwhile George wins, together erstwhile we win, dear associate States will build a Europe of values on May 18, a Europe of homelands in which we will not let the EU centralized and make Poland and Romania its provinces," Nawrocki said.
Simion, leader of the extremist right-wing AUR, criticized the current European Union in his speech. He was convinced that this was the time to fight for freedom again. "For our rights, for our Christian family, for our countries," he said.
Simion received the highest support in the first circular of presidential elections in Romania. The pro-European mayor of Bucharest Nicosur Dan will compete with him next Sunday in the second round.
