For over a period we have been surviving on the case of the doctor of Gizela Jagielska. Gizela Jagielska is simply a gynecologist who works in the region infirmary in Oleśnica. publically and without hesitation, she admits that in her practice she carried out about a 1000 abortions – carried out on the basis of circumstances which only she knows. present the full of Poland is talking about Gizela Jagielska taking the life of a kid who could have been born in the 37th week of her pregnancy.

Gizela Jagielska is simply a gynecologist and midwife associated with the Oleśnica hospital, where she serves as vice principal. She completed her medical studies in 2006, and in 2014 she entered the specialization exam in gynecology and obstetrics. She specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and pregnancy pathology.

On her blog, “Grandmother Babkom” is presented as “a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, during a specialization in perinatology”, adding that she was 1 of the people who co-founded the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Oleśnica, which functions in the current form.

In June 2023, in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, she stated: “Yes, she does. I'm having an abortion. Not just me, my full team.” The doctor indicated that many doctors avoid having abortions, fearing the possible legal consequences.

In August 2023, in an interview with OKO.press, she described how pro-life foundations tormented her and her team, organizing actions outside the infirmary and private offices. “They refuse the rosary, they hang posters with data from our infirmary and brand us as abortion doctors,” she said.

In turn, the intrusion of Grzegorz Braun into the infirmary in Oleśnica, which took place in April, became another loud episode in this case. In the beginning of April, ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’ informed the prosecutor of the initiation of an abortion investigation by Dr. Jagielska.

It's Anita's case, the female who made the decision to have an abortion erstwhile it turned out that her unborn kid had serious genetic defects. However, the doctors urged her to cut and give the kid up for adoption. Eventually, the abortion was carried out in the 37th week of pregnancy in Oleśnica, where Dr. Jagielska performed it by giving a heart-stopping injection to the baby's heart.

In a conversation with “Politics”, the doctor expressed her surprise and outrage at the behaviour of Grzegorz Braun, who entered the hospital. "It was completely unexpected. People active in this action made my work difficult, locking me in the office," she said.

The decision to have an abortion in the 37th week of pregnancy, erstwhile a kid could come into the planet and live, shakes everyone's conscience. Although the right to abortion is recognised in Poland in certain cases, in this case it is hard not to announcement that alternatively of looking for alternatives specified as imperial cutting or palliative care, the decision to end the life of the unborn kid was made in a way that is highly drastic and unwarranted. The case of the Jagiellonian doctor is so not only the subject of a public debate on the right to abortion, but besides on the limits of humanitarianity and ethics in medicine, which should be based on respect for the life of all person, regardless of his health.

The doctor, regardless of his views, is obliged to look for alternate solutions to hard situations that take into account both the parent and the child's welfare. alternatively of having an abortion, which in this case was a dramatic solution, another options specified as imperial cutting, palliative care, and adoption should have been considered. These alternatives could let a kid to live a dignified life, even if it had serious genetic defects. Hence, the question arises whether the doctor who makes specified decisions truly performs his function – a doctor who primarily aims to save the life and wellness of patients.
