The 9th Patriot Day, organized by the White Raven publishing house, is an event that has permanently entered the scenery of Polish culture. This is simply a gathering with outstanding creators of Polish cultural, artistic, social and spiritual life, and its culmination is the award entitled “Patriot of the Year”. Who will be this time? The organizers of course keep this secret until the last minute; the winner will not be revealed until the presentation, that is, on Saturday 9 December in the historical hall “Sokola” in Krakow (from 4:30 p.m.) at 27 Marshal Józef Piłsudski Street. The chair of the jury, which awards the award, is Prof. Andrzej Nowak. In the spheres it is said that the chances for the award are, among others, celebrated actors Halina Łabonarska or Jerzy Zelnik, Ambassador to the UN prof. Krzysztof Szczerski, Border defender (as an institution) or the author of "Historia and the Present" Prof. Wojciech Roszkowski.

This year's Patriot Day will focus on the most prominent Polish conservative creators, who will discuss contemporary social, political and cultural challenges which presently negatively affect our world. Changes in values and views will be discussed, taking into account the modern realities of the 21st century. In the context of Poland, discussions will be held on the effects of the martial law more than 40 years after its introduction. The subject of national betrayal and its impact on national identity will besides be addressed, through analysis of historical examples, consequences and current threats to Poland. The figure of the patron of Poland, Saint Andrew Bobola, will be highlighted with a presentation of the biography of this large patriot and the steadfast Catholic who died martyrdom at the hands of the Cossacks.

It is worth noting that during the 9th Patriot Day the authoritative Prime Minister of the 6th volume of “Todays of Poland” will besides be held, in which prof. Andrzej Nowak describes the years 1632-1673 in our history. This is simply a turbulent period and we follow with the Author how the Nobility Republic changes. It doesn't change for the better. It is transformed into a magnate Republic. The king's weak position, and the reign of the slavola, the state, and even betrayal. The nobles slow degraded, on which for so many centuries the defence of the Homeland was based. Free election is being degenerated, this symbol, only apparent, noble freedom, or, as we would say today, democracy. The weakening of the country immediately prompts the neighbours to invade and plunder, thus subtitled the sixth volume of “Dzeczy Polski”: “The Flood and Fire”.

As usual, the celebrations of Patriot Day will be accompanied by a pre-Christmas fair of beautiful White Raven books, which will start at 3:30 p.m. All news will be presented plus respective 100 another titles, including for children. The books will be signed by Adam Bujak, professors Justyna Chłap-Nowak, Bogusław Dopart, Fr Janusz Królikowski, Andrzej Nowak, Wojciech Roszkowski, editors Czesław Ryszka, Jolanta Sosnowska and Janusz Szewczak. In total, the event is not only a large chance to receive commemorative dedications from prominent authors, but besides the anticipation to acquisition books even with a 50% discount. besides to be acquired are awesome calendars for 2024 with photographs of Master Adam Bujak. The gathering will enrich the singing of respective patriotic songs led by outstanding opera vocalist Jan Kowalczyk (bas-baritone).

The co-organizer of the event is the Lech Kaczyński Academic Civic Club in Krakow headed by prof. Bogusław Dopart.
