84 years ago, on 1 September 1939, German troops without declaration of war at dawn crossed the borders of the Polish Republic. Despite the heroic opposition of over 5 weeks, the isolated Poland could not successfully defy the aggression of Germany and the russian invasion carried out on 17 September.
