Almost 68 million hryvians were to build shields to defend the energy object from drones. Instead, the money is gone, and the safety has never been created. The case was revealed by the safety Service of Ukraine together with the police and the prosecution. It's another scandal that strikes trust in a country that fights heavy for Western money.
Money for shields that aren't there
The Ukrainian services reported the detection of another case of the removal of public funds. This time, it's about nearly 68 million hryvnia, which were expected to fund shields protecting 1 of the power facilities from drone attacks. The facility lies in the south of the country, in the Nikolay Oblast. The case is handled jointly by the SBU, the National Police and the prosecution.
The mechanics was simple. According to investigators, the company that got the large advance didn't get to work. The shields remained only on paper, and the millions donated vanished without trace. Stealing that weakens defense
