Personal losses of the Second Republic in the years of planet War II
Can an exact number be determined?
The issue of individual losses (absolute) of the Second Republic was the subject of
investigations of various institutions already during planet War II. Information on this topic
announced the Ministry of Congressional Work of the Polish Government in London in September 1944.
It was then concluded that the second Polish Republic lost 4,114,000 of its citizens,
of which 2,481,000 Jews.
From September 1944 until the end of the war, at least in Europe – May
1945 . – there were inactive a fewer months . After the war, they're the authorities.
“Popular” Poland had far more opportunities to survey this
issues than the legitimate government of the Republic of Poland located in London .
Attempts to estimation individual losses have been made respective times,
through state institutions and historians. State institutions are the Office
Indemnifications to the Bureau of the Council of Ministers and
Ministry of Finance
For the most likely number of individual losses of the Second Republic The number of about 5 900,000 should be adopted at the moment. Though we must all the time Keep in head that these are all estimates
A serious obstacle to the actual investigation
the amount of individual losses are the categories of losses introduced by
authors of erstwhile estimates . Each of them applied somewhat different criteria. Therefore, even very precise conduct at present
one group of victims , does not substantially alter the estimates of the full failure .
During the period of the “people” Poland was practically not included in the calculations of losses of the Polish state under russian occupation, more broadly
to the east.
The failure of citizens was besides taken into account to a tiny extent
II Republics another than Polish and judaic .
Only after
Such estimates were made in 1989 .
In the case of absolute losses in the east among Poles
A figure of about 500,000 is widely accepted . However, losses
among national minorities (except Jews) in the full of the II Republic of Poland is defined
for about 1 million people. Losses of Polish Jews were commonly defined as about 3 million7
(c. 2 900 0008) .
The scale of problems in determining the precise number of Polish citizens who
They've lost their lives, rather eloquently portraying the work on determining the failure of the Army.
Polish. Depending on the origin we can specify the span of these losses from
123 178 to 147 256, the second should be added
loss of the Home Army (ZWZ-AK) outside the Warsaw Uprising . Let's add,
in the 1990s, roll-over data on
119 720 soldiers. This is the most recognized group of individual losses – from
81.30 to 97.19% depending on the size of the loss.

16 specified size was given in authoritative publications . Only in the Yearbook statistics
By the fresh calculations, the area of Poland is 312,520 km2.
By taking the data from the above table, it can be concluded that as a consequence of the II
This planet country lost 11 409,000 inhabitants . nevertheless , this is not very precise .
It should be taken into account that the census was held
In 1931 , and then the Polish state had 32 157 000 citizens . Population
In 1939 , it is based on estimates .
However , very interesting data on the census of 14 II 1946 .
GUS .
It turns out that the difference in the number of inhabitants (its reduction) in the “earth”
the former” II of the Polish Republic, which was part of the “people’s” Poland, was 2,994 400 . On the “recovered lands” this difference was 3 399 5000 – but we must
remember that on these lands before the war there were no citizens of the Second Republic .
So in 1946, we absorbed 3.4 million Germans?
No. No.
So we can say that the Polish state lost as a consequence of planet War II
6 393 900 inhabitants . In addition, the CSO utilized in his calculations
census data of 1931 , not estimates of 1939 .!
It should besides be stressed that February 1946 was not the date of the return of the
Polish “over the Vistula” .
By the end of 1948 only 658 140 Polish citizens were displaced from the USSR, including 94.46% of Poles.
According to others
data – in 1946–1949 “from the east” the designation of resettling 689,000 people .
According to the Central Statistical Office, in 1944–1949 Poland was resettled
with ZSRS – 1,529 498 people .
In 1939–1941 at the east Borders of the Second Republic of Poland, occupied by the USSR,
As estimated, 13,199,000 people lived. About 40% were Poles, that is
c. 5 280,000 . Extracting from these calculations a Belarusian that counted in 1933 .
1 041 100 inhabitants are received about 12 160,000; of which 40% (Poland) – 4,864,000 .
Given the number of displaced persons from the USSR to Poland in years mentioned above
1944–1949 "missing" about 3 million Poles . any of them most likely remained in their homes and became citizens of the USSR, but any died, among others.
in camps, prisons, as a consequence of war or as russian soldiers.
As we can see, more than 7 million people from national minorities lived in East Kresy, where, under russian occupation, about 8.4% of the population were
Jewish, 34.4% Ukrainian minority, 8.5% Belarusian minority, 1% less
Russian grossness, 0.7% German minority, 0.6% Lithuanian minority, and
0.3% Czech number .
As reported, losses of national minorities across the
The 2nd Republic of Poland (except Jews) is estimated at 1 million people .
The Polish Armed Forces in the West were a serious population problem.
Still in July 1947, there were 142,000 soldiers in the UK, and about 30,000 were in the defender units in Germany. In years
1946–1948 74,459 Polish soldiers returned to Poland.
According to GUS data – in 1944–1949 2 282 042 returned to Poland
citizens from countries another than the USSR, including 665 983 people from 1946 to 1949 .
This should be taken into account by adding to the results of the February 1946 census.
If we are considering the anticipation to find the precise data to
the individual losses of the Polish State as a consequence of planet War II, this should
highlight the request to proceed investigation on individual subjects
towns (towns, towns, etc.)
Such studies have been conducted
in the past. For example, the number of residents of Poznań according to
CSO data from 1939 and 1946 decreased by 3299 people . In fact, as many as 14 413 inhabitants of this city lost their lives. In Warsaw, according to the 1939 and 1946 figures , the population of 702,050 people was "depleted". According to erstwhile studies, 685 000 inhabitants of the capital lost their lives.
So for 80 years after the war, the number of victims inactive hasn't been calculated exactly.
The above text is besides written as if it were infinite, and the writings are vague.
The facts are not unambiguous.
On the "recovered lands", however, this difference was 3 399 5000 – but we gotta remember that citizens of the Second Republic did not live on these lands before the war.
And you can't write-- "In the "recovered lands" we received 3 399 5000 Germans, any of which (how large?) left for Germany, from 1948 to 1980"
Why can't you compose it straight, or is it a secret, I gotta guess what the scientist meant?? due to the fact that now I'm not certain that's what this was all about, these 3.4 million Germans.
