6.11.25. erstwhile You don't know,What is it...

She was in the erstwhile Records We are talking about reading about Russia and the mentality of those who, like the protagonists of a reporting cycle on Russian problems, “want specified as Putin” (see besides the article). Barbara Włodarczyk, Crazy love. I want 1 like Putin., Literary Publishing House, Kraków 2021). By the way, it may be worth reminding that in 2016, directed by the author of the above-signed reports, it was besides created movie Documentary Goodbay America... It referred to the Russian slogan promoted by Nikita Khrushchev from the times of the russian Union: "Fighting and chasing America".

Today, through selected readings, we will move, among another things, to America, which for the second time elected president Donald Trump promoting the slogan "Make America large Again". It is possible that this will make a field to think about who, who, and especially in what way they are now trying to catch up.

Recently, for example, in July of this year, a Polish translation of an extraordinary study was published, this time by an American writer – Katherine Stewart. Its problems and illustrations, although in item they concern America, de facto discover and let to call the trends analysed by the author in a global dimension. 1 of the things that we request to mention next.

In any case, Stewart's title communicative metaphor says for itself: Power Believers (c. Jarek Westermark, Beef 2025), which could besides be translated as: Powerful Worshipers (originally: The Power Wormshippers) and which clearly indicates that power can be treated as identical to religion. The subtitle of the study sets out the problem: Religious Fundamentalism and Politics in the United States.

The essence of specified announced analyses is expressed in the book immediately in the introduction. The basic presumption of the American “rebels of power” is that, according to Katherine Stewart's findings, America has been a Christian state since its dawn. This means surviving by the Bible’s rules. As a consequence, the author of the work describes reasoning and responding to specified assumptions as ‘Christian nationalism’, describing it as follows:

Christian nationalism is not a spiritual religion, but, in my opinion, political ideology. He promotes the story that the American republic at its dawn was a Christian state. It is based on the presumption that the legality of the government is not based on the approval of the ruled (Consent of the governed), but in faithfulness to doctrines existing within a circumstantial religious, cultural or cultural heritage. It demands that the basis of our government be a non-balanced debate by democratic institutions, but a well-defined explanation of the Bible. He is defined by fear that the nation has abandoned the truths that erstwhile made him great. Christian nationalism looks back on the fictional past of America, founded supposedly in a spiritual spirit. It besides looks at the future in which its version of religion and its followers together with their political allies occupy a privileged place in the field of politics and government (Confessors..., p, 10-11).

It is adequate to note that the trends analysed by the author of the study lead to the replacement of democracy with authoritarianism, in which those who know how to live will point out certain rules to others and will monitor their compliance. All of this will happen at the intersection of religion, power and money – it would not be possible to introduce the orders characterized here without the engagement of oligarchs who finance appropriate actions. As a result, they are to rule. erstwhile you don't know what it is, it's surely about money, as an old proverb teaches. They are followed by power, and it is good to usage religion. The author says this:

For besides long the American Christian-nationalist movement has remained misunderstood and ignored. Most citizens of our country view it in cultural terms – they think it is focused on social issues specified as abortion or single-sex marriages and on the conflict for symbolic matters: monuments or praying in public places. However, the spiritual right has become much stronger over time and has set itself more serious goals, although it represents the interests of a narrower group of citizens. We are not talking about social or cultural movement. It's a political movement to gain power. It does not want to be just another voice within American pluralist democracy, but to replace our fundamental values and institutions with a strategy based on a peculiar version of Christianity – according to what any believers call "the Bible's view." It serves, a unusual coincidence, the interests of the founders of the movement and the politicians allied with them. The movement has small chance of achieving its most utmost intentions, but it has already managed to reduce the level of political debate and divide the country, inflaming spiritual conflicts. This is not a cultural war. This is simply a political war for the future of democracy (Confessors..., pp. 9-10).

The study does not mention Catholicism. He focuses primarily on the Protestant denominations crucial to America. It is the consequence of both the journalistic investigation and the alleged participating observation. The author clearly stresses this:

For the last 10 years, I have participated in conferences, meetings or meetings, during which activists at the forefront of the movement discussed strategies of action. I was drinking coffee with “wealthy cured” pastors active in the mobilisation of “profamily” voters. All night long, I exchanged emails with men and women who wanted to build the United States again, in line with the “Bible Law” guidelines.Confessors..., p. 8).

The impulse for investigation and reflection presented in Stewart's study was, it seems, the experience associated with her daughter's education. It's the first conviction of the introduction:

A twelve years ago, I never thought I'd compose this book. erstwhile in 2009, an aged country from another city decided to organize and run a Bible club in my daughter's California simple school, everyone looked at them as strangers from a unusual planet trying to sneak into a beach party. The intent of the club was to convince children – including five-year-olds – that if they did not adhere straight to the principles of Christian faith, after death they would be forever in hellfire (Confessors..., p. 7).

Stewart's observations were described by her in 12 chapters. The center of attention in each of them occupies a somewhat different aspect, another representatives and another mechanisms triggering spiritual fundamentalism. On the another hand, there are always crucial quotations from the speeches of the politicians and the passages of Bible records quoted by them under different circumstances.

It is different that most of these "American views" are known very well, not from the speeches of Trump and another American politicians, but from the statements of Polish politicians, which they give in relation to life in Poland. For example, we are constantly proceeding about the request to preserve household values and respect tradition, about the madness of pro-abortion propaganda, and about the fact that "real Poles", like "real Americans", can only think according to the principles of those who fight abortion and opt for the sanctity of life from conception, know the "concept of saving suffering" and would not have imagined the thought of euthanasia. We have frequently heard that God commands women to “be subject to the will of their husbands” and to physically punish their children, as well as that they must not quit in the evangelization of various social groups, and that various pastoral services must be established, fresh premises must be sacrificed, and those wishing to destruct religion from schools must be fought. We have heard that classes on wellness education are equal to children's sexualisation, the right of single-sex couples to marry should never be accepted, homosexuality must be treated, Darwin has a lot to do with gays, and ecology is Satan's invention.

The Americans besides know that God “did not want human races to mix with 1 another,” so it is clear that from God’s command the conviction of white heterosexual men must always be a mountain and human rights must depend on them, and slavery is Scripturally justified. The story of the Tower of Babel besides clearly proves that the Bible commands the “nations” to keep separate through “borders and barriers.” The American people besides know that God “looks against illegal migrants”, the thought of the separation of the Church from the state is unscriptural, and societies should be led by priests, the substance of taxation to be shaped in accordance with Bible orders. It is besides clear that all physical disabilities, diseases and earthquakes are consequences of infidelity. And so on, and so on. So, in general, we request to “present God’s position on state affairs,” constantly remembering that the full fact about the planet is contained in the Bible, which now commands the Americans to work straight with Trump. Confessors..., pp. 64, 70). No wonder that any time ago there was even discussion about establishing a day of prayer for Trump...

The final chapter of Stewart's coverage is simply a coverage of the planet household legislature held in 2019 in Verona. Here we read:

The Christian-nationalist movement in the United States, which is the subject of the [described] book, is only a fragment of an always denser network surrounding the world. The global holy war is simply a bit different in each country, but its essence and character stay amazingly unchanged (Confessors..., p. 306.

As a result, there were speeches by representatives of various countries, including the United Kingdom, in the context of her decision on “Brexit”, Hungary, Poland or Russia, and the above-mentioned American image of the planet was rather well seen in them...

Interested in a readable extension of the diagnosis from Stewart’s study and in a deeper insight into its diagnosis of the American ideas about the world, interesting materials can be found, for example, in the book Invasion of body healers. In American Medicine's Fools Matthew Hongoltz-Hetlinga (for example Hanna Pasierska, Wydawnictwo Czarne, Wołowiec 2025), as well as the work published at the end of September Piotr Tarczyński p.Slender tentacles, known forces. past of America in conspiracy theories (Sign of the Literary New, Krakow 2025). The text on the subject taken up at the work of Tarczyński and in connection with it is besides worthy of attention Robert Stefanicki p. Coincidence? I don't think so. published on the pages of the latest edition of "Books of the Magazine for Reading" (see No. 5. of 2025, pp. 73-77).

If, in the context of these readings, individual wanted to take a closer look at the issues of our own country and our native story about the origins of the Polish state, it would be recommended Maria JanionIncredible Slavic. Fantasms of Literature (Literary Publishing, Krakow 2006) or Karol Modzelewski Barbarian Europe (Iskry, Warsaw 2004), and above all, Gehenna. Church business of Poland Artur Nowak and Stanisław Obirek (Agora, Warsaw 2025). In connection with the problem of this work recently, the book besides helps to realize a lot Kamila Janicki Ten. The actual past of the clergy in erstwhile Poland ( Poznan Publishing House, Poznań 2025).

Finally, as always, attention to education. So let's go back to Stewart's story. In 1 place, the author displays a fact which seems to be highly significant. For a reason, “rebels of power” start their activities by installing a group promoting their model of the planet in schools. At the same time, they focus on “education and large capital” (Confessors..., p. 16). It means that they want both to master the educational system, including the prevention of secularisation of society, and to usage school buildings free of charge, among another things, during various propaganda activities. Of course, our local “rebels of power” have no hesitation...
