"If you want peace, prepare for war" says the Latin proverb, which, as it turns out, is not so true. The most safe countries in the world, according to the Global Peace Index, are those that reduce defence spending and focus on social policy. And there is simply a method in this, due to the fact that many of them have been ranked for years, proving that peace can be maintained primarily by peaceful politics and community building.
