Why should I be in Warsaw on 4 July?
Volyn Foundation We remember organizes, as in erstwhile years, celebrations dedicated to Poles murdered by Ukrainians. On On 4 July in Warsaw, at 3 pm, we will leave the Square of 3 Crosses towards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We, as conscious Poles, have a work to remember our fellow Ukrainians murdered. It is highly crucial that this year we present in Warsaw crowdedly and show neobanders and forgers of past that we do not care.
We will march through the streets of Warsaw, which remembers the terrible times of the uprising, including the unheard crime of the slaughter on Wola. We will go for our Polish sisters and brothers, murdered at the lost Polish Borderlands. In memory of infants, children, women, old people, men – including soldiers and priests. We go due to the fact that we remember those fellow countrymen whose last image before their eyes – there was an approaching axe or the blade of the scythe of the Ukrainian neighbour. We go for those silent martyrs who, before the beastly death, only heard the cry “The fame of U Krajini – Herojam fame!”. We are going for Polish soldiers and officers, who already in the war of guns of Polish huts and devoted their lives, in the fight against chauvinist bandits.
The Memorial March is besides a march of our opposition and demands. We do not agree with the media whitening of flagism, the intellectual outbursts of pseudo-intelligents, we do not agree to wine-talking, we do not agree to the false slogan that "we forgive and ask for forgiveness" – due to the fact that no blame can balance here. We will besides walk due to the fact that we radically disagree with the slow rate of exhumation of our fellow Americans murdered by Ukrainians. We cannot agree to tolerate in the media space negationism from chauvinist Ukrainian groups who want to alter the course of history.
We request a more Polish attitude than the authorities in our country. A more assertive attitude towards Ukrainian authorities. We request from the Church in Poland the attitude of primate Stefan Wyszyński, who opposed the beatification of Andrzej Szeptycki. We request an immediate ban on the promotion of flagism in Poland. We request a name to commemorate all Poles murdered by Ukrainians from 1939 to 1947.
This is simply a peculiar memorial march. It takes place in disgraceful times. People calling for the memory of murdered Poles, about the destroyed monuments of our culture, about the wealth developed by generations, about the interest of Poland – are dragged after courts. And it is at a time erstwhile in Ukraine a military unit is named “UPA heroes”! Is there anything more humiliating for a Pole? We besides go due to the fact that we do not accept specified treatment of those who know that they are Poles and have Polish obligations! due to the fact that we are arrogant of them and we owe them a immense debt of gratitude.
Let us not let ourselves be told that anti-banderism is an anti-Ukrainian attitude. The opposition to German Nazism and the request to celebrate the victims of German national-socialism was not anti-German! It was a Polish national interest! That's the case, too. Not for forgers of past and followers of silence! Not for flagism and neo-banderism! Hello to the Memorial of Murdered Poles!
See you in Warsaw on 4 July!
