On Sunday 12 April in Łękawica close Żywiec there will be celebrations related to this year's 35th anniversary of the death of the first Polish blessed martyr missionaries from Pariacoto: Blessed Zbigniew Strałkowski and Blessed Michał Tomaszek. Lękawica is simply a household village of the latter.
Franciscans from Krakow – Fr Dariusz Gaczyński OFMConv, Missionary Animation Secretary and Mr Jan Hruszowce OFMConv, Promoter of the Martyrs' Culture of Pariacoto – will bring their fellow believers – Zbigniew Królkowski and Michał Tomaszek, who died on August 9, 1991 in Peru at the hands of terrorists.
In the temple, peculiar and precious relics will be displayed: bloody shirts that the martyrs wore at the time of their dedication.
Participants will be able to acquisition material devoted to martyrs from Pariacoto. Jubilee crosses will besides be distributed for the first time, commemorating the sacrifice of blessed Franciscans.
The parish in Łękawica is the second place in Poland, which began the authoritative celebration of this year's 35th anniversary of the death of the first Polish martyr missionaries. Earlier, the celebrations for them were held on 5-8 March in the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Pieńsk.
