The closure of the Warsaw Runway Triad is expected to be loud and many – on the list starting in 34. The independency run already has 13,000 participants, and fresh runners are inactive arriving. It will be the biggest moving event of this year in Poland.
Interest in sporting events is increasing steadily – in 2022 the independency Run finished 9 134 runners and in 2023 already 13 091. There is simply a good chance that this autumn will exceed 15,000 participants and sustain this fantastic dynamic!
Organizer of the event, the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation and the MagazineBeganie.pl launch with a unique action “POLiczmy zmy”. Its aim is to collect data about the number of participants of each race organized in our country on 11 November, to illustrate the immense patriotic and sporting commitment of Poles on this unique day.
Record number of runners on the horizon
This year's launch list 34. There are already 13,000 registered participants. Last year, over 13,000 runners proudly crossed the finish line, celebrating the 105th anniversary of independence. This year in the capital there will be a unique chance to get closer to evidence attendance and show that the fashion for moving has not only returned, but is constantly gaining popularity. The Warsaw half marathon, which took place in March, attracted the largest number of participants in its history! Each event of the Warsaw moving Triad this year beat its turnout compared to erstwhile editions. Now it's time for the independency Race to end this moving period with an equally awesome score!
Start in Warsaw and... wherever you are!
34. The independency run will take off at 11:11 p.m. and its message goes far beyond the athletics rivalry itself. This event unites Poles in active celebration of independency – from the capital to the smallest towns in the country.
- I'm sorry. We can see that moving has become not only a popular athletics in Poland, but besides a way of expressing patriotism and community. For those who cannot be in Warsaw that day, it is possible to participate in the Virtual Run – until 17 November everyone can run a distance of 10 kilometres, wherever they are. We encourage those who choose virtual participation to take off at 11:11 on 11 November to feel 1 with runners from all over Poland and give symbolic importance to this unique moment," says Magda Skrocka, manager of the 34th independency Race.
The “Let's Go” action is on!
This year's edition of the run will be unique in symbolism. In addition to the continuation of the tradition of formulating the Polish flag at the start by runners, organizers start with the action “POLiczmy zmy”. Its aim is to show a immense scale of cross-country culture and the thought of celebrating regaining independency into sports. - The independency Race is simply a sports classical organized throughout Poland. It is an amazing feeling to be able to admire how in all corner of the country independency Day is celebrated on sports. We want to emphasise the importance of all these initiatives – that is why this year we come up with the thought of counting participants of each independency race. We clearly emphasize that the organizer of all run - from the large city to the local ones - can join the “POLiczmy wszystko” action. In this way we want to show the scale of the engagement of runners in this peculiar vacation - explains Magda Skrocka, manager of the 34th independency Race.
The “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation intends to collect detailed information about any moving initiatives related to 11 November and then, with the support of their organizers, number the participants. The action is organized in cooperation with the portal MagazineBieganie.pl, which will not only number but will besides present any of the exceptional moving initiatives on the Polish map.
