This year it was 30 years since the tragic events in Bosnian Srebrenica. An anniversary conference was held at the University of Warsaw, attended by university authorities, representatives of the Ministry of abroad Affairs and global experts.
"Never Forget Srebrenica. 30 Years of Seeing Truth, Justice, and Rememble". Under this slogan, an anniversary conference was held on genocide in Srebrenica. From October 16 to 17 at the Faculty of Political Sciences and global Studies (WNPSM) the University of Warsaw held debates on the search for fact and justice, as well as forms of commemoration of the massacre 30 years ago.
In July 1995, during the war in Bosnia, in the vicinity of Srebrenica, militants of the Armed Forces of the Serbian Republic killed about 8,000 Bosnian Muslims. These events were recognised as genocide by the global Court of Justice, the global Criminal Court for the erstwhile Yugoslavia and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference at CISM was opened by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, and Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Dean of the Faculty. The event was attended by prof. Robert Kupiecki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of abroad Affairs, as well as experts: Edina Becirević, Konstanty Gebert, Manfred Nowak and Roman Wieruszewski.
During the conference, the erstwhile Polish Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki was mentioned, who reported on cultural cleansing in the Balkans from 1991 to 1995 as a peculiar UN envoy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following the events in Srebrenica in protest against the inaction of the UN associate States, he placed a mandate.

The series presents writings and papers related to Tadeusz Mazowiecki, the first Prime Minister of the 3rd Republic, an activist of the democratic opposition, 1 of the founders of the monthly "Band" and "Tygodnik Solidarność", as well as a peculiar rapporteur of the United Nations during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has been published since 2023 in cooperation with Tadeusz Mazowiecki Cathedral and the Faculty of Political Sciences and global Relations of the University of Warsaw. Many of the writings and papers have not yet been published.
