PLN 3 billion for Polish defence companies in Narew

The 4 companies of the Polish Armed Forces Group will receive PLN 3 billion of backing from the Capital Investment Fund for investments in the Narew programme – this is the consequence of contracts signed on Monday at the Ministry of State Acts.PAP

The Polish Armed Forces Group will receive PLN 3 billion for strategical investments in the Narew programme. According to a communication from the Ministry of State Assets, 4 arms companies will receive funds to grow their production capacity.

The funds were allocated to method modernization of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, especially air defence systems. The investments are intended to increase the scale of the activity of Polish defence companies and strengthen national defence capabilities.

Largest beneficiaries of the programme

PIT-RADWAR will receive the largest share of funds - 1.76 billion PLN for the construction of a modern production and technology plant in Kobyłka. The company will gradually decision its production activity from its current location in Warsaw.

Jelcz will receive over PLN 756 million to build a completely fresh production plant. This investment will importantly increase the production capacity of 1 of the key providers of military transport equipment.

Other investments in defence

WZU will receive over PLN 198 million for infrastructure essential for the production of components of anti-aircraft and rocket defence systems. These investments straight support the implementation of the Narew programme.

ZM Tarnów will receive over PLN 309 million for the acquisition of modern production machinery and construction of fresh production, laboratory and investigation and improvement halls. All plants will besides receive full laboratory facilities for the improvement of fresh defence technologies.
