Professor Michał Główinski is dead. A large loss, due to the fact that the function and weight of the prof. for Polish humanities, literary studies and Polish studies in peculiar is great. I had this honor and happiness to be his student at an autonomous seminar which we organised on our own, so on our side, at IBL PAN during my studies at the University of Warsaw in the 1980s. It was virtually a fewer people, a group of friends and they, Professors, stars of IBL; Michał Głowiński, Tomasz Burek, Janusz Maciejewski. Unforgettable meetings, conversations and work on texts. As a result, Michał Głowiński was the promoter of the master's thesis on Gombrowicz Andrzeja and Janusz Maciejewski my thesis on Andrzejewski.
I think we were close, that Michał Głowiński liked us due to the fact that I met with attention and hope on his part, that thinking, attitude and work made sense. But above all, I remember and it will stay with me forever that the Head is simply a charming, very gentle and delicate Man and above all, despite his knowledge, position and talent strikingly modest. Thank you very much, Professor, for these hours, days, evenings... in total, years dedicated to us. Thanks for your books, which are humbly waiting in my library for me to return to them.
