217. Fear, aggression, escape, freak our daily.

He's a single man in his 40s. He inspires intelligence because, after all, he is simply a master, a post-polonist teacher, but he might as well be a non-high-level official, an engineer who has not recorded crucial professional promotions for 20 years, a doctor without specialization, a writer without his own program, sometimes a scientist without his own investigation team. Although he is convinced of his competence, his regular life does not indicate that. The home is almost deprived of books, its amusement far from intellectual – it usually talks to the TV, and social skills are close to zero: erstwhile something goes wrong, it reacts with aggression or withdrawal, especially erstwhile it encounters resistance. He chickened out before his first large love, then grabbed a female who was just available, and from that minute on, the relation fell down. Actually, he doesn't gotta bend due to the fact that he never truly was. There was no relationship. “All through the First Unfulfilled Love” – he truly wants to believe it. It just got loud about him again, due to the fact that the movie about him was selected by the movie of the 50th anniversary of the festival in Gdynia. Yeah, that was an event. "Świra Day" (2002) Marek Koterski was surrounded by a cult almost immediately after the premiere, as was the manager and screenwriter himself. After eighteen years of filming about Adas Miauczyński.

Swine Day – My Right Than Yours

Freaks like the hero will find rather a lot in Poland, but no of them think it was a movie about him. This is why he could gain specified popularity, just like films about Poles from Barea, in which we see many neighbours, but no longer ourselves. This was successful due to the fact that Koterski's protagonist got so many peculiar and hilarious insistences in the script that they obscured an average, frustrated Pole, convinced of his superiority over the uneducated, due to the fact that he is expected to be in full studios, but without intellectual cuts and passion, whose happiness he bypasses at his own request by cowardice and fear of responsibility, by the inability of surviving between people. Infected by a controlling mommy who has gold advice and tomato soup for everything, with a daddy who hasn't yet said anything (about alcoholics and drug addicts he started mentioning only in another film), surrounded by a akin society of violent and jealous, who see only their needs – both here and now. “I am not allowed to talk to you in the morning”, “I am not allowed to watch tv shows in front of me”, “I am not allowed to ride in 1 compartment...”. It surely has its female counterpart, but let's not complicate it. Instead, let's look at a short passage of the scene from the beach:

Świra Day – Beach scene with female Dreams (fragment)

This monologue made me realize how balanced the Koterski Freak was, at least compared to today's Freaks. Miauczyński talks about something he does all day. He is simply a teacher of Polish language at last. Yeah, I know she's getting a small paranoid, but she's always in her field. Today's freak isn't like that anymore. The little he knows, the better. The priest of Dąbrowa Górnicza will tell you about the depravity of wellness education (Marta Kaczyńska with Karol Nawrocki will confirm), the weak man who soaked before the physics class will tell you about the survey of plane disasters, and his colleague, who last year of chemistry at the level of general school, drew to measurement only due to the fact that she passed from another subjects, told about pharmacy and vaccines and where epidemics come from. Adaś Miauczyński from “The Day of the Swir” did not even appear to be an alcoholic himself. I was a bit short of a Świr – a drug addict, a Świr – a fisherman, a Świr – a gambler, a Świr – a kibol, a Świr – a perfectionist, a Świr – a nationalist, a Świr – a knight of the cross at the call of this and this..., the movie lasted only an hr and 25 minutes, something could be pressed. A car, a motorcycle, quite a few land, too, if you wanted to, you could find the Miauczyńskis moving from the planet and relations with people. No, I'm not saying or suggesting that anyone who spends time like this does it for that. I'm just saying that they run rather frequently there, and at first glance it's hard to separate them from average users.

Marian Opania – I want to be mistaken

And yet I missed my favorite, the Infallible. He was an altar boy and he liked it – the altar boy can't be bad, he was in the army and he liked it – the army can't be bad, he was a women's/children's boxer and he liked it – force can't be bad.

Ralph Kamiński – Happy Birthday

PS.

I am increasingly nostalgic, but without longing, filled with anger, as Jan Oborniak had anticipated: “The shitter was far from the bed, walking in the rain. Shitty were the times”.
