On the last day of the school year, representatives of Ordo Iuris and the Center of Life and household submitted over 200 000 signatures to the MEN and KPRM under 4 petitions opposing the ideology of the school and politics Minister Barbara Nowacka.
Representatives of Ordo Iuris and the Life and household Center present have submitted over 200 1000 signatures collected under 4 petitions concerning the Polish school. Appellates concerning the cessation of sexualisation of children and the presence of religion in schools went to the Ministry of National Education, while the others – for the resignation of Minister Barbara Nowacka – were placed at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers. The deadline coincided not accidentally with the end of the school year, providing a symbolic summary of the erstwhile educational policy of the resort.
Subscriptions are an expression of opposition of hundreds of thousands of Poles to the direction of changes introduced in the education. The full number consists of 4 separate citizens' initiatives.
The first of these – "Stop sexualizing children“ – it is an appeal to leave the subject of “childing for life in the family” in schools, to quit compulsory “health education” including permissive sexual education, and to respect the constitutional rule of parental parenthood.
Second petition – "Nowacka must go“ is an appeal for the Minister of Education to be dismissed in connection with the decision to make “health education” compulsory, even though over 70% of the pupils were enrolled in the past year.
Third initiative – "Religion Stays in School“ is simply a protest against reducing the presence of spiritual lessons in schools, including reducing the number of hours, removing grades from certificates, and integrating students into interclass groups.
Fourth petition – "Dimisia NowackaThe Minister is demanding that he resign after his message about the alleged “Polish Nazis” and the removal of content concerning Polish past and national heroes from the programming base.
Prior to signing, Marcin Perłowski – the manager of the Centre for Life and household presented the objectives of the individual petition and the reasons for opposition to the forced changes in education. He pointed out that all 4 initiatives combine the common denominator: the defence of the constitutional right of parents to rise children according to their own beliefs and opposition to the ideology of the Polish school. He appealed for dismissal by Minister Barbara Nowacka, stressing that the end of the school year should besides become the end of her office.
