"It is simply a large satisfaction to say that the state's defence spending is expanding at an awesome rate," said MON deputy chief Paweł Zalewski, pointing out the cross-party and political agreement on this issue – including from taxpayers. The next year's defence spending is expected to exceed the expenditure from this year by PLN 500 million. "The combined financial effort of the state in defence spending in 2026, including the Armed Forces Support Fund, will amount to PLN 200 billion, an increase of PLN 13.5 billion compared to the current year, i.e. by about 7% more. The planned contribution of defence expenditure to GDP is 4.81 percent," Zalewski said. He added that "the defence budget will improve the key operational capabilities of the armed forces".
