Soldiers 20 of the Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade of Gen. Stefan Rowecki, ps. “Grot”, together with firefighters from PSP and OS, removed fallen trees and congestion from the Sawa River, in the municipality of Białobrzegi, to reduce water flow and prevent the flooding of surrounding areas.
In consequence to the violent storm that passed through the Łańcuta region, on Friday, July 11, 2025, soldiers of 20 of the Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade were directed to assist in removing the effects of the storm that passed in the vicinity of Wola Dalsza gm. Białobrzegi. In the trough of the Sawa River, about 2 km long, the component caused the top desolation. The abrupt storm caused the riverbed to be blocked by broken trees and various types of uncleanness.
Soldiers from 2 border defence battalions participated in the action: 201 from Przemyśl and 202 from Jarosław. The soldiers' actions focused on removing fallen trees and supporting emergency services in the course of the rescue operation.
For industrial territories, this has been another challenge in fresh months for the implementation of the tasks resulting from the crisis. Not long ago, in April this year the Przemysl OT Brigade supported the local community of Pałojowa, where the storm caused the flooding of part of the village. In that case, the reaction was immediate, and within 2 hours of the passage of the element, soldiers from the Jarosław Battalion helped to remove the effects of flooding many of the property. Of course, we must not forget last year's relief action for residents of Lower Silesia, where for six months 20 PBOT soldiers carried out tasks in the field of removing the effects of tragic floods, including assistance with the construction of container school in Żelaź and container kindergarten in Śląski.
Experience gained in utmost conditions helps to implement and support local communities in crisis situations.
The Territorial Defence Army is tasked with protecting their "little homeland" where our countrymen request help. "Always Ready, Always Close".
