date: October 09, 2023 Editor: Anna
On October 19th, the National Day of spiritual Recollection of the steadfast is celebrated. We remember priests who, by their attitude, bore witness to faith, valor and patriotism.
19 October tby day kidnapping and the beginning of the martyr's death of Blessed George Popiełuszko . This year we celebrate the 39th anniversary of the execution of Fr.Jerze.

Since the very beginning of the Polish state, clergymen have not only served in spiritual service. They have frequently worked to make their homeland, to defend their sovereignty, to support freedom fighters, to shed blood for them. On that day, we pay tribute to priests who, under their occupations, cherished the memory of Poland and spiritually prepared the nation to regain an independent state. We callback the memory of the clergy who defended the Independent from the Bolshevik storm. We remember the victims of planet War II – priests imprisoned and murdered in German death camps, Katyn, Kharkiv and Mednoje, Siberia and Volyn – only for being priests and Poles. Finally, we remember clergymen who did not give in to communist slavery, and despite repression and persecution they did their service, preaching the fact about Polish history, claiming dignity and human rights.
On October 19, the relics of Blessed Fr Jerzy Popieluszko will be introduced to the Bernardine Fathers' Church in Radom.
