$184 billion for an army. Is SAFE the best way to finance defence?

PLN 184,414 billion – so much, according to the course of February 24, 2026, Poland can borrow under the EU SAFE programme for modernization and reinforcement of the army. This is the biggest financial injection our country can receive from among the EU countries. Is it worth it? Matthew Michnik from the Civic improvement Forum spoke about the economical advantages and risks of SAFE in an interview with Szymon Glonk.
