Exactly 175 years ago, the residents of Warsaw and many another Polish towns witnessed an extraordinary phenomenon—for 110 seconds in the mediate of the day, the Sun completely disappeared. The solar eclipse of July 28, 1851, was the last specified event visible in the capital, and besides the first to be captured in a painting and a photograph.
