The Trinity of the Holy Church has been worshiped since the first centuries of its existence. Her secret – as the saints said – is more hard to realize than pouring a spoon of ocean. Still, it is worth to meditate on the Holy Trinity and keep on praying to the Triune God.
Saint Cyprian
Finally, when, after the resurrection, the apostles are sent by the Lord to the Gentiles, they are called to baptize the Gentiles "in the name of the Father, the boy and the Holy Spirit." How, then, do any say that a Gentile baptized without, outside the Church, so in opposition to the Church, that only in the name of Jesus Christ, everywhere and in any way, he may receive the remission of sin erstwhile Christ himself commands the baptism of Gentiles in a full and united Trinity?
Roman Hippolyte
We cannot otherwise comprehend God unless we truly believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit....The word of the Father,... told the disciples, Go and teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the boy and the Holy Spirit. Here he taught that 1 of them does not show actual worship. For God receives worship in this Trinity.
Alexandrian dionysis
I besides added attention to the Holy Spirit and pointed out simultaneously from whom and by whom (Son) it originates. In this way, then, we will extend the indivisible unity to the concept of Trinity and Trinity again, without any prejudice, to the concept of unity.
Tertullian
We believe in 1 God... but let the mystery of economics be kept, which divides unity in the Trinity, 3 putting: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 3 but not a state, but a degree, not a substance, but a form, not a power, but a form. They are 1 substance, 1 power, due to the fact that 1 is God, and these degrees, forms, and figures are distinguished by the names of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (cf. 31:1).
Saint Columbus
The Father, boy and Holy Spirit is 1 God. The cognition of the Holy Trinity is rightly compared to the depth of the sea. Just as the sea depths are inaccessible to human gazes, so the Holy Trinity is not available to the human mind. Those who want to penetrate the immensity of God, let them effort to know the universe first.
St. Atanasia
What the Holy Spirit assigns to everyone comes from the Father through the Son. Everything that belongs to the Father belongs to the Son. Therefore, the gifts given by the boy in the Holy Spirit are indeed the gifts of the Father. We receive grace and gift in the Trinity from the Father in the Holy Spirit.
St. Gregory the Wonderworker
One is God, the Father of the Word of the living, individual Wisdom, speech and image of the Ancient. 1 Lord, the only One, God of God, the reflection and image of Deity, the working Word, Wisdom encompassing all things, The power to establish all creation, the actual boy of the actual God, indestructible from indestructible, immortal from immortal, eternal from eternal. And 1 Holy Spirit, having the existence of God, who besides revealed himself through the boy to men. The perfect image of the perfect Son, the life and origin of life, The Holy Source, the holiness of sanctification. In Him is revealed God the Father, who is above everything and in everything and God the Son, who is through everything. The Trinity is perfect, indivisible, and invariable in glory, eternity, and kingship. There is nothing created in the Trinity, nothing servile, nothing added that was not before, and only then arrived. Thus the Father of the boy and the boy of the Spirit have never been lacking, but always the same Trinity irreversible and invariable.
St. Faustina Kowalska
At 1 point God's presence penetrated my full being, my head was strangely enlightened in the cognition of His Being; he brought me [God] to know his interior life. I saw in spirit the 3 Divine Persons, but 1 of Their Beings. He is alone, one, only, but in 3 Persons, neither smaller, nor greater, 1 of them in beauty, nor in holiness, for there is one. One, absolutely one. His love brought me into this cognition and brought me together. erstwhile I was connected to 1 [God's person], I was connected to the another and the 3rd [God's person], so that, as we connect to one, by the same means we connect to the 2 People like one. 1 of them is will, 1 God, though in the Troikas. erstwhile a soul is given to 1 of the 3 Persons, the power of this 1 will is joined with the 3 Persons, and is flooded with the happiness that flows from the Trinity of the Most Holy; the happiness is fed to the saints. The happiness of the Trinity of the Most Holy makes all that is created happy; the life which revives and gives all life which of Him begins.
Maria Valtorta
Inside the eternal ellipse of the Father is the second wheel, born by the Father, acting differently, but not in opposition, for Nature is one. It's the Son. His light, more wobbly, not only gives life to the bodies, but, thanks to his Victim, gives life besides to the souls lost by them. It's a flood of powerful and sweet rays that feed your human nature and teach your mind. In the interior of the second wheel is the third, formed as the consequence of the action of the first two: the wheel of light even more vibrating and inflamed. It's the Holy Spirit. It is Love which arises from the Father's relation with the Son, existing between them and flowing out of Both, a miracle over miracles.
Saint Augustine
"Nowhere else is the mistake more dangerous, the search more laborious, and the discovery more fruitful... (than in relation to) the unity of the Trinity (unitas Trinitatis): the Father, the boy and the Holy Spirit."
