The March for Life in London has been recorded in past as an unprecedented event. Over 10 1000 people – young and old, believers and non-believers – went to the streets of the British capital to show the belief that human life deserves protection from the very beginning.
The atmosphere was different - – Christian unity met here with the voice of people outside the Church. “ This atheist is in favour of your actions, ” comments have been made online that best convey the importance of this moment. Let us halt the genocide of the unborn.” Under the banners of the March there were Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox bishops, Evangelical pastors, and leaders of Christian communities. The message of the papal legate was besides read, and the event was accompanied by the Pro-Life Human Rights Summit.
There were no shortages of the voices of politicians and people who paid a advanced price for their beliefs. Carla Lockhart, president of the pro-life parliamentary group, spoke of human rights "for all, without exception". Sara Spencer, a midwife who lost her practice for opposing her conscience, stressed that no circumstances would persuade her to support abortion.
Isabel Vaughan-Spruce besides appeared in a strong tone, recalling that 2 opposing visions of a man cannot be reconciled: “valuable human beings or worthless pieces of tissue—everyone has to choose what he believes.”
One of the most moving moments was the evidence of Josiah Presley – a man who survived an abortion in South Korea. Born with disabilities, adopted by an American family, he spoke about his way from anger and rejection to the discovery of Christian faith.
"When God reminded me of my value, I besides saw the value of my parents, an abortion doctor or pro-choice activist. Their lives are besides precious due to the fact that everyone was created in the image of God”
– he said.
Presley recalled that the essence of the pro-life movement is the belief that life has an inalienable value from conception.
“We have a work to leave the planet that is for life, not against it. It is our work towards the next generations"
He appealed.
The London March for Life showed that the subject of protecting the weakest does not belong to 1 group or religion. It is simply a call to conscience – regardless of the planet view.
