On 1 January 1945, the capital had a population of 1295 1000 people, before the start of the September run – 1307,000, and after it ended – 1,265 thousand. In the first years of the business (1940-1942) despite the negative natural growth, the population of Warsaw grew rapidly due to the influx of residents from various parts of the country, especially the districts attached to the Reich.
