The services from 18 countries have intercepted around EUR 1.2 billion in counterfeit banknotes and coins under the global DECOY III operation, coordinated by Europol and operated by Austria, Portugal and Spain. The actions were aimed at criminal networks distributing counterfeit cash via postal shipments. According to Europol, more than 90% of safe shipments came from China or were linked to them.
