Day 742.
Many interesting information from Crimea has appeared today
Here Ukrainian forces carried out a comprehensive multi-step operation that led to the demolition of a large Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol vessel
It should be noted that these operations take weeks, if not months, and most sources overlook the scale and complexity of these operations, informing only the last thing that happens
Ukrainian forces do not have a fleet, and Russian ships are cautious adequate not to be within scope of Ukrainian anti-shipping systems, as well as marine mines, so as you can imagine, it is highly hard for Ukrainians to destruct the Russian fleet.
Currently Ukrainians have only 2 ways to destruct Russian ships: utilizing Storm Shadow missiles and sea drones
As far as Strom Shadow's rocket attacks are concerned, they have become increasingly hard as Russian forces have introduced a number of changes, specified as moving the fleet to ports beyond rocket scope and constantly moving within rocket range.
As for naval drone attacks, they are hard to carry out, as most Russian ships are not only in motion, but besides have radar, device guns and air support available to detect and destruct approaching drones.
So catching Russian ships requires quite a few planning.
The first phase of the operation began on 1 March
Russian sources claim that Ukrainian forces carried out a series of attacks on Russian targets close Sevastopol, Evpatoria, Saki and Symferopol.
According to Russian military analysts, the Ukrainian armed forces erstwhile targeted Russian air-space forces at the airport
In order to complicate rocket capture and confuse Russian air defence operators as to which missiles should be given priority, Ukrainians fired decoy missiles.
The Russian Ministry of Defence declared that all missiles were intercepted and the airports remained intact.
Based on the deficiency of geolocation materials, this seems to be true.
This is not amazing due to the fact that in the erstwhile attack Ukrainians managed to hit Russian airports, so it was expected that Russian forces would adapt to the situation.
However, given the deficiency of air defence systems, Ukrainians understood that by improving air defence in 1 region, Russian forces had necessarily created a shortage in another region.
Therefore, 2 days later the Ukrainians carried out a completely different strike in a completely different region.
The second phase of the operation included a massive drone attack in central Crimea.
Russian sources reported that the Ukrainians fired thirty-eight drones of different types.
Interestingly, all drones were aimed at the same area – Feodosia.
As you may recall, Russian forces have moved much of their Black Sea Fleet from Sevastopol to Feodosia to increase distance and complicate Ukrainian attacks.
However, the city is inactive within scope of S200 missiles, and given that Ukrainians have fired so many drones in this direction, Russian forces have understood that Ukrainians deliberately waste Russian air defence fire to open the sky for S200 missiles.
In anticipation of the rocket attack, Russian forces began to decision their ships as it is the simplest preventive measurement against rocket attack.
However, while avoiding keeping ships in the bay, Russian forces had to exposure their ships to naval drone attacks, which was precisely what the Ukrainians continued to do.
Ukrainian forces present launched a naval drone attack on a large Russian patrol ship close Feodosia.
The Ukrainian Chief Military Intelligence Board reported that it successfully attacked the ship utilizing Magura V sea drones, inflicting serious harm on the left and right side of the ship, killing 7 sailors and injuring six.
Furthermore, Ukrainian sources noted that the ship had a Ka-29 or Ka-27 chopper on board, which Ukrainian forces destroyed along with the ship.
