Today there have been many updates from the Swatwe direction

Here, in the face of expanding force from powerful Russian storms threatening to breach from their strategical base on the river Żrebiec, Ukrainian command reacted boldly
An elite 3rd Assault Brigade was deployed, preparing the ground for a key counterattack to stabilise the defence line against greater forces.

The Russian goal in this part of the front is to gain full control of the remaining areas of the Luhansk region and to usage the docks close Makiyawka to launch attacks on the northern Donetsk region.
A strong concentration of Russian forces, combined with months of continuous attacks, greatly damaged Ukrainian defence efforts

Ukrainian command initiated a series of counterattacks utilizing the 3rd Assault Brigade north of Makiyawka, with the aim of cutting off 1 of the key Russian supply routes to the city.
This strategy forced the Russians to focus on consolidating the bridgehead in Makijiwka, giving Ukrainian forces the chance to strengthen their defence against resumption of attacks by the Russians.

The 3rd Assault Brigade is 1 of the most elite units of the Ukrainian army.
The organization of this brigade was strategically designed to make highly mobile, well-equipped and comprehensively trained forces capable of engaging in both offensive operations and active defense.

Ukrainians began their operation by deploying drones with thermal smokers to burn the tree lines surrounding Russian trenches.
By eliminating this shield, they importantly improved visibility for operators of standard FPV drones, facilitating the detection of larger groups of Russian soldiers.
When the tree lines were set on fire, Ukrainian drone operators were able to track down and destruct more Russian soldiers.
Even erstwhile drones failed to hit the mark and hit close trees or branches, another debris continued to wound or kill close Russian forces.

The deployed drones besides provided information on Russian positions to artillery operators and mortars of Ukrainian artillery groups.
The artillery groups of the 3rd Assault Brigade are equipped with modern British self-propelled artillery AS-90, whose artillery shots were customs adequate that Russian troops were destroyed even in motion.
Original, uncensored combat material with these amazing shots can be found on our Telegram channel via link in the description.

After dense artillery and drone attacks weakened Russian positions and destroyed much of their defense, 3rd Assault Brigade soldiers launched ground attacks.
Tanks T-64-BV moved towards Russian positions to attack areas that were not full neutralized by artillery and drones.
When their targets were achieved, the tanks deployed smoke grenades to hide their retreat and retreated from the battlefield.

When most of Russian defence was destroyed, Ukrainian stormers were deployed in M113 armored transporters.
After they left, they began to comb Russian positions in a coordinated manner.
Many Russian soldiers, already disoriented by earlier fire and drone attacks, hid in their landmines.
Unfortunately for the Russians, Ukrainian soldiers rapidly attacked and eliminated those who remained.
Eventually only 1 Russian soldier surrendered, providing critical intelligence on close Russian units.
He was the only survivor of the attack due to the fact that all the others died in action.

Interestingly, despite a Russian numerical advantage of 2 to one, Ukrainians secured fresh positions thanks to well coordinated efforts of their units.
These attacks north of Makijiwa forced the Russians to divert their forces to the northern flank to stabilise the situation.
Although the Russians began counterattacks to regain lost positions, The 3rd Assault Brigade continues to keep the line, utilizing a continuous active defensive approach.

Overall, Ukrainians managed to hold the Russian intensive infantry attacks on Makijivka for months and gave Ukrainian forces close the city adequate time to fortify the western bank of the river before the Russians attacked.
Ukrainian stormers managed to shift Russian attention, which forced them to redirect any of their forces to counterattack to lost positions.
